Wednesday, June 15, 2016 - 14:45

On Monday 20th June, a workshop on “The new role of public libraries" will take place during the European Parliament’s Culture (CULT) Committee meeting.

This will be an opportunity to discuss the challenges, risks and opportunities facing public libraries across the EU, and to engage Members of the European Parliament in a meaningful debate.  Three experts will give presentations (to be followed by research papers) on the following topics:

  • The new role of public libraries in local communities
  • E-lending: challenges and opportunities
  • Promoting media and information literacy in libraries

You can follow the workshop online from 14:00 CET - more information will be available at the following link: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/supporting-analyses.html
